There are many people that are very sensitive to smell, and that makes strongly scented things like perfume, lotion, or scented candles difficult for them to enjoy. Maybe the strong scent gives them a headache, or maybe it actually makes them feel a bit queasy. No matter the adverse reaction you have to these pungent smells, you don’t have to spend your life avoiding anything with an added scent. Rather, just learn how to dilute some of the strength.

In terms of perfumes or lotions, make sure that everything uses a light scent like lavender or an understated floral scent. Always test before you purchase to make sure the odor isn’t too strong for you. And in terms of aromatherapy, many of the essential oils are known for being undiluted and very strong. You might find this off-putting. But with a diffuser, you can send the scent of the essential oil throughout the house. By spreading it in a large, open area, the aroma won’t be concentrated. Rather, it will lightly accent every room.
